Unintended Consequences

I consider removing colonial era statues and banning Gone with the Wind dangerous since they are actions that further extend the pernicious practice of no platforming. Better to maintain but contextualise such artefacts as material markers of history around which political dialogues and artistic interventions can take place. Otherwise, promotion of further historical amnesia might be the unintended consequence.
