Nostalgia has its benefits during crises. By anchoring us in the past it can distract us from the future. The harsh realities that face the majority who survive this moment may make us feel nostalgic for the fast fading newness of 2020 normality. Or, maybe revisiting is the first step towards remaking. The spiral of memory and action is never linear. Perhaps one truly has to step back into the future.
