François Jean Arago was a French scientist, Republican politician, and supporter of liberal causes, including the abolition of slavery, he also played a key role in officially recognising Louis Daguerre as an inventor of photography.

A Benjaminian expedition through Paris can be undertaken by following  absent statues and monuments.
