Notes, Thoughts, and Observations
Beyond irony or satire, the emptiness of contemporary art is more often than not just, well, empty, leaving us to look for ideas and content elsewhere.
Only if looking is empty can it subsequently be filled with memories, stories, and ideas.
Can one be clever in looking or can one only be clever in words?
Photography is the continuation of looking by other means.
Photography is looking undressed of ideas.
It is not with ideas but with light that photographs are made.
‘Live up to the light thou hast, and more will be granted thee’ - Quaker adage
Whatever has gone
Leaves something in its passing
From light to shadow
Catching shadows, photography approaches life, at a distance.
Shadows are to photographs as silence is to music.
